Software / Firmware
Adaptations:
We have our own in-house development
team. As a result, Applied Microsystems
is able to quickly customize instrument
firmware and software. Customizations
of this kind often occur on OEM integration
projects (ie. AUVs, ROVs, or multi-beam
sonars) or when custom data output is
required.
Data Communication:
We have significant experience with
the transmission of instrument data via
satellite and radio for real-time processing
at a third location. We also understand
the challenges of relaying data from deep
water.
Sensor modification:
In some instances,
existing sensors may need to be modified
for the expanded ranges, more frequent
sample times, or higher n accuracies required
by your application.
In other cases, you
may wish to complement our sensors with
those of another manufacturer. We can
easily integrate these sensors into our
instrument housings. Moreover, we can
ensure easy extraction of data via software
or fimrware customization.
We also welcome request
for new sensors, specifically designed
to meet the data collection requirements
of the project at hand.
Varying deployment types:
Depending upon the application, instruments
may require custom cages, brackets, or
battery packs. With 28 years of experience
putting instruments in water, we know
how to ensure your deployment is successful.
Similarly, you may need to take existing
technology to greater depth. With years
of experience in developing instrumentation
for high-pressure environments, we know
what the pitfalls are!
Remote power:
Some instruments have high power needs
and are deployed for extended periods
of time. Our engineering team has proven
experience dealing with solar powered
instruments to overcome this hurdle.
