Instrument Types & Models

Applied Microsystems offers two types of instruments: loggers and real-time instruments.  For each instrument type, there are different models available, each with specific features and benefits.   For example, real-time instruments are available in either the Smart, Micro, or OEM models.  Logging instruments are available in the Plus v2 model.

Micro CTD

The Micro CTD is a high accuracy, small sized instrument for measuring conductivity, temperature and pressure. No pump is required. High speed sampling rates and rapid response times guarantee high resolution data even in high speed applications.

Micro P

The Micro P provides high accuracy, rapid response measurements in the smallest of pressure housings. The instrument's small size makes it ideal for deployment on AUVs or ROVs. The Micro P outputs data in real-time and requires external power.

Micro SV

The Micro SV measures sound velocity using time-of-flight technology. Extremely small in size, the instrument also has high speed sampling rates and rapid response times. The instrument is externally powered and outputs data in real-time.

Micro T

The smallest of AML instruments, the Micro T provides high accuracy and rapid response temperature measurements. The instrument is externally powered and outputs data in real-time.

Smart SV

The Smart SV uses time-of-flight technology to measure sound velocity. The instrument outputs data in real-time and is externally powered. The Smart SV is most frequently used for sea surface SV or placement on an AUV, ROV or other vehicle.

Smart SV&P

Often used for shallow vertical profiles, the Smart SV&P measures sound velocity and pressure. Data is outputted in real-time and external power is required. A hand-held data display is available as an option.

Smart SV&T

Ideal for measuring sea surface sound velocity, the Smart SV&T is often used in sea chest or hull mount applications. The instrument measures sound velocity and temperature and outputs data in real-time. External power is required.
