CTD - Conductivity Temperature Depth : Micro CTD
CTD - Conductivity Temperature Depth : Micro CTD : Description The Micro CTD is a small, high performance and flexible CTD. With rapid response times on all three sensors (conductivity at 25 milliseconds at 1 m/s flow), salinity spiking is minimized without relying on pumps or other moving parts. This configurationof the Micro CTD is self-powered; other externally powered configurations are also available.

CTD - Conductivity Temperature Depth : Micro CTD : Sensor Information:
| Name: | Conductivity | | Manufacturer: | Applied Microsystems | | Type: | Conductive | Model: | n/a | | Accuracy: | 0.01 mS/cm; 0.005 mS/cm precision | | Range: | 0 - 7 S/m or 0 - 70 mS/cm | | Response Time: | 25ms @ 1m/s | | Max. Frequency: | 25Hz | | Maximum Depth(m): | 6000m | | Resolution: | 0.0015 mS/cm | | Stability | n/a | | Location: | n/a | | Notes: | The Applied Microsystems conductivity sensor is short, with a length of just under 3 cm. Sensor length plays a critical role in determining resistance to the introduction of new flows into the sensor cavity, and hence response times. The equation for response time is as follows:
Response Time = (0.85 * Length of Sensor ) / Flow Speed.
Using the above, our conductivity sensor has a response time of 25 milliseconds in a 1.0 m/second flow environment and 255 milliseconds in a 0.1 m/second flow environment. Given the above, no pumps or flow tubes are required. |
