Applied Microsystems (AML) is pleased to announce
that SV·Xchange™ - the world’s only exchangeable,
field-swappable sound velocity sensor – is now available
on Applied Microsystems’ Micro SV sound velocity instruments.
SV·Xchange™ was launched in early March, 2008 at Oceanology International in London. The sensor’s field-swappability eliminates the need for entire instruments to be
returned for recalibration. Reduced instrument downtime adds convenience and flexibility while eliminating unnecessary shipping costs reduces the cost-of-ownership. In addition to being field-swappable, SV·Xchange™ is more accurate and more precise than existing sound velocity sensors and performs better in high turbidity environments.
SV·Xchange™ was initially only available on Applied Microsystems’ sound velocity profiler, the SV Plus v2. Since the product’s launch, customer enthusiasm has been extremely high, with many requests for immediate availability on smaller instruments like the Micro SV. This now means that SV·Xchange™ sensors can be connected to both SV Plus v2 and Micro SV instruments, dramatically increasing the overall value of the SV·Xchange™ solution.
