Applied
Microsystems Ltd. is pleased to announce the sale
of one Argus II Geothermal Heat Probe to India’s
NGRI (the National Geophysical Research Institute).
The Bangalore based institute was established
in 1961 with the mission to be the premier geo-scientific
organization in India. The NGRI’s professional
staff of 200 focus on basic and applied research
in the frontier areas of solid earth geophysics.
Of particular interest is the acquisition of new
information about the
Earth's interior by electrical, magnetic, thermal
and gravitational means.
The Argus II Heat Probe is used for thermal conductivity
studies at the ocean's bottom. In this case, the
instrument will be rated to a depth of 6000m.
The
NGRI purchase comprises a total solution which
includes the instrument, spare parts, class room
training in Canada, and field implementation services
on-site in India.
Applied Microsystems manufactures sensors and
systems for in-situ, real-time detection and measurement
in water. Located in Sidney, Canada the company
was founded in 1974 and has been building oceanographic
instruments for more than 30 years.
