Victoria, BC, December 15, 2007 - Applied Microsystems Ltd. (AML) is pleased to announce the sale of twelve SV Plus v2 Profilers to the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of China.
Earlier this year, the MSA released a public tender stating their sound velocity requirements. China Ores – AML’s agent in China – placed a successful bid on Applied Microsystems behalf. This represents the second significant sale of Applied Microsystems sound velocity equipment to China’s MSA. Robert Haydock, AML’s President, credits the sale’s ease to “China Ores’ highly skilled engineers and their ability to support our products” and states “we are very pleased to continue supporting our customer, Professor Tang and our agent in China.”
MSA is a governmental organization responsible for the supervision of safety in Chinese waterways. Key activities include assurance of safe navigation in Chinese waterways, the prevention of pollution by ships, and the inspection of munitions on ships.
Located in Sidney, B.C. Canada, Applied Microsystems designs and builds oceanographic instrumentation. AML has manufactured more than 3000 invar-rod sound velocity sensors, making the SV Plus a proven field partner. The SV Plus v2 is a time-of-flight sound velocimeter that incorporates both temperature and pressure sensors.
